[Minecraft Steve Walk Cycle]

Maybe I'm too old-school when I say this but with Mineccraft characters, I've always preferred the stiffer movements rather than what fan-animations and Story Mode went for. Even though I know this is based on the official trailers where it allows Steve and Alex to get a bit more fluidity and expressiveness out of them while still trying to retain the blockier aesthetic, the simpler rigid style is just really charming and it gave more identity to Minecraft.

It's a less is more type situation for me.

Nah man, I totally agree with you on that. Less is definitely more when it comes to animating Minecraft characters, but I still want to give them some pep in their step while still trying to retain the feel of Minecraft at the same time.

[half-life ladder mechanics]

Perfectly accurate, first HL is pure joy but my god, those ladder mechanics really have not aged well and have been the main cause of a lot of deaths for me lol
